Carolyn Coil, an International Consultant for Assessment and Differentiation, presented a weekend workshop at Brent International School Subic last October 11 and 12, 2014. In this two day workshop, staff at BISS examined and created ways to develop effective and differentiated assessments for students in different subject areas. The faculty were encouraged to create their own rubrics and criteria cards. Discussions centered on what type of rubrics to give students, what type of assessments should be graded, and how to clearly communicate assessment goals with students, The first day of the workshop focused on defining assessment, developing assessment criteria cards and writing rubrics. The second day of the workshop focused on developing Individual lesson plans, and differentiated assessments. Everyone was encouraged to create their own assessment tools and share it with the group.
